Winkelman Elementary Rock Club

Rock Club is designed for Grades 4-5 and will include much of the same instrument learning content and games as our Rock Rookies (such as learning foundational music concepts and basic technique on core rock instruments: guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and voice), along with the more advanced concepts of rock history and genre as a guide. We will do some active listening and learn about how bands function by collaborating towards a whole sound. Students will be encouraged to think and talk about the songs that make them feel and want to move! We will break down and study songs by artists like The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, and Weezer.

School of Rock is the world’s leading contemporary music program for young players. Our team of professional working musicians inspire kids to play harder... faster! We teach technique, musicianship, and encourage deeper listening skills at every level. We are bringing our foundational music learning experiences right to Winkelman in advance of our new location opening in Northbrook in early 2020! Classes will be taught by our Music Director, Dave Vazzano, and an Assistant Director from our talented staff.
